LA PORTE — La Porte High School Building Trades students hauled, cut and hung drywall on Friday, bringing the skeletal insides of 1001 Maple St. one step closer to becoming the Worthy Women Recovery Home.
When completed, the home will act as a transitional recovery home. It will house 14 women, assisting former female inmates in becoming constructive citizens, reintegrating them as positive and productive members of society. Before the building can start helping these women, however, it needs to become a home.
